FAQ

1. Why should I attend the Nordic Forum?

With around 90 CEMS students from all over the world and top companies, this is a great opportunity for you to expand your CEMS network. The four forum days will be filled with skill seminars, speed interviews, networking and social events with prominent corporate partners. You will have the opportunity to learn, ask questions and hear the opinions of experts in their fields. By participating in the skill seminars you will earn skill seminar credits for your CEMS MIM degree. The skill seminars will last 4/8 hours each, and you will earn 0.25/0.5 ECTS per skill seminar. Furthermore, multiple social activities will allow you to experience and explore the city of Copenhagen.


2. Who can attend the Nordic Forum?

The Nordic Forum is an exclusive event for students enrolled in the CEMS Master in Management programme provided by the CEMS Alliance (cems.org). Students from any CEMS university around the world are eligible to apply. First-year MSc students who are accepted to the CEMS program and will only start their CEMS year next year are more than welcome to apply to the Nordic Forum.


3. When can I apply and expect to hear back from you?

Applications to the CEMS Nordic Forum 2019 will open on 21st January 2019. They will close on 4th February and we are going to reach back by the end of February.


4. What are the selection criteria for applicants?

In order to ensure a good match between students and companies, applicants will be screened according to the following criteria:


• Motivation to take part in the Nordic Forum

• Understanding of the topic of NF (Sustainability & Strategy)

• CV evaluation based on Corporate Partners' criteria


5. What will the schedule of the event be like?

Copenhagen Business School wants you to get the most from Nordic Forum. You will have the opportunity to be involved in inspiring seminars as well as in several social activities to get to know your peers and the capital city of Denmark, Copenhagen.


The Organising Team is working hard to create the best balance between seminars and recreational activities.

6. Can I choose seminars to participate in?

All participants will be asked to rank their preferred skill seminars, and information about final selection will be sent to the participants before the start of the Nordic Forum.


Please be aware that skill seminars are mandatory to attend, as the ECTS credits (i.e. 0.25 ECTS credits per 4h seminar) will be recognised in your CEMS study plan. Exceptions to the number of seminars you attend can only be made for very special reasons and prior to the seminar selection process by contacting the Organising Team.


7. What is your cancellation policy?

Standard CEMS rules regarding skill seminar attendance and cancellation policy apply to the Nordic Forum. Please note that we are unable to refund any participation fees once you have already paid.

7.1. The following provisions apply if participants wish to resign from participation in Nordic Forum:

  • Participants can withdraw their application form before the Payment Deadline (which is determined in the confirmation email if the candidate is accepted) with no severe consequences.

  • If participants are no longer able to participate in the CEMS Nordic Forum, after they have paid the participation fee, then the non-refundable policy applies. Participants should equally be aware of CEMS guidelines on absence from Skill Seminars by visiting the Student Guidebook on http://www.cems.org

  • If participants chose to purchase Accommodation but wish to cancel this option, after they have paid, then the non-refundable policy applies. However, participants may find someone to replace their spot in the hostel as long as the individual is a Nordic Forum participant. An email must be sent to operations@cemsnordicforum.org where a case will be made and dealt with individually. The CEMS Nordic Forum team reserves the right to reject the request.



8. Policy on making changes:

  • If candidates wish to change information in their application form that will directly influence participation in skill seminars, interviews, or rotation dinner, then an email must be sent to operations@cemsnordicforum.org where a case will be made and dealt with individually. The CEMS Nordic Forum team does not promise that changes will be granted.
